I want YOU to join us in a nation-wide event the weekend of October 21st at the Merrell Institute on Long Island, NY The Event: The event will be two and a half days of learning how YOU can stop the bipolar left-right gridlock that has gripped our nation, learning about current issues, getting to know your fellow Reformers and learning how to participate and be effective. This event is open to ALL REFORMERS and centrists from across the country including individuals who are not party members.
Prior Event Photo The Dates: Registration will start the morning of Friday, October 21st. Events will run from noon Friday, October 21st through noon Sunday October 23rd. The Location: The event will be held at the Merrell Institute, 1461-16 Lakeland Ave. in Bohemia, New York.

CONFIRMED GUEST SPEAKER
Retired Intelligence Officer 1:30-2:30pm Saturday at Merrell Institute Mr. Faddis has accepted our invitation to speak and answer questions on reforming the United States intelligence and national security policies and bureaucracies. After a decade of spending and the construction of huge new bureaucracies for improved national security, are we really any safer? Or have we just thrown money at the problem?
Mr. Charles “Sam” Faddis is a retired CIA operations officer,
former assistant state attorney general, and owns a private consulting
firm. He is also the author/coauthor of four books on the need for
reform in US intelligence and national security policy.
CONFIRMED GUEST SPEAKER
Former Comptroller General and head of the GAO 4-5:30pm Friday at Merrell Institute Mr. Walker has been invited to speak and answer questions regarding restoring fiscal sanity. From the TCAII website: “Putting our nation’s finances in order is a critically important and challenging endeavor,” said David M. Walker, the Founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative. His organization has proposals which significantly reduce spending and debt/GDP levels by through budget caps on most major spending categories, reforming Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, reducing defense and other spending, and engaging in comprehensive tax and revenue reform. (Note that Mr. Walker is trying to fit this into his schedule but has not yet confirmed) David Walker is founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative (CAI), formed to promote fiscal responsibility and sustainability by engaging the public and assisting key policymakers on a non-partisan basis in order to achieve solutions to America’s fiscal imbalances. Mr. Walker's guest appearance is for educational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement of any political party. Activities: We are still finalizing the agenda, but the events Friday through Sunday noon will include speakers on current issues including national security and fiscal responsibility, workshops on how to be effective in organizing people and communicating issues, and extensive networking opportunities to get to know your fellow members and potential candidates for 2012! Workshops on how to be effective will include but not be limited to:
We also will have a couple of demonstrations on debate technique. We are still finalizing all of the events, so stay tuned for updates! Who Should Come? All National Committee representatives from affiliated state parties are expected to attend, as we will have an on-site National Committee Meeting as per our rules. Potential Candidates for the 2012 election cycle are highly encouraged to attend! This is a great opportunity for you to meet the Reform Party and to get some exposure prior to the 2012 election cycle. Reform Party leaders, members, and nonmember supporters are highly encouraged to attend! Spend a weekend enjoying yourself and meet lots of reform-minded people from across the country and learn skills and techniques to make you successful when you return home. Never underestimate the power of dedicated and knowledgeable individuals working together!
What do I do now? Reserve your spot by emailing secretary@reformparty.org to notify us you are attending. We will send you information on how to register, lodging and travel availability, and will put you on an announcements email list at that point so you will receive any updates to the agenda or speakers. |
